Map
Elevenses: Botley, Manor Farm Country Park
Lunch: The Queens Head, Fishers Pond
As Phil needs to be home for his night shift, he will lead the ride as far as the lunch stop, after which riders can continue informally to a tea stop, or head back with him.
Update: Recce completed.
A reasonably level 40Km route will take us to elevenses at Manor Farm Botley. This part of the ride is fairly urban, but I've chosen roads which avoid traffic as much as possible, and have included some cycle tracks and cut throughs you may not be familiar with. We will also pass a number of places of interest enroute.
After coffee we will head into the countryside on a circular route to Fishers Pond. This leg is only 27Km, but it is hilly and we should have a good appetite by the time we arrive at the Queens Head for lunch.
I've left route options open after this. I need to head home in time to get some sleep before my night shift, so will probably use the B2177 to Bishops Waltham, then through Swanmore and Wickham. Anyone wanting to use a more scenic route will be welcome to do so.
About Tuesday rides
The Tuesday rides are typically 60-80 miles at a moderately fast pace while maintaining the social nature of the Saturday and Wednesday rides. The rides will start at various locations to be determined by the individual ride leader.
