Map

We will meet on the path by the lifting barrier at the back of Langstone (Technology) Park, to look at a "top spot" tree there. Please bring a pen & your i-spy trees book, if you have one. Then we'll cycle along Farlington cycleway and Eastern Road cycleway to Milton. Some cycling in traffic will be necessary to get to Milton Park (between Milton Rd & Goldsmith Ave). Here I hope we'll identify three trees not yet ticked off in our books. Next we could have a coffee break, either at Pure Ground Community cafe there, of go a bit further to The Coffee Cup, on Eastney seafront.
After coffee we'll head for Hayling Island ferry, to look at some different trees on Hayling. This will involve several stops and starts! We'll visit Mengham, St Mary's Church, and West Town.
We can have a go at ageing a tree by measuring its girth.
Then we'll head to Northney, via West Lane, Daw Lane and Yew Tree Lane. Lunch can be at Northney Tearooms, after which the ride will end back at L(T)P.

About Wednesday rides

Wednesday rides usually start from Havant with stops for elevenses, lunch and sometimes tea. If you're unable to keep up or have a mechanical problem, someone will be available to help you - although we obviously cannot guarantee to solve all problems.

Wednesday rides usually provide a range of options to riders as we'll try to arrange multiple rides with different paces, distance and degree of hilliness.

On Wednesdays it is likely that there will be several riders coming back to the Havant area after an elevenses stop - although they might not include a PCTC ride leader. If that is what you'd like to do, please consult the ride organiser before the day of the ride to ensure someone knows and is able to bring you back.
