Leaving the Spring at zero nine hundred hours we’ll be off on today’s adventure by a direct route to Chi, skirting the north of the city and heading to the Fontwell underpass and up to Slindon for elevenses at the Forge. From there we make our way to Madehurst and the Whiteways Roundabout, dropping down to Arundel avoiding the town centre and onto Ford. Having consumed our bread and water, perhaps some porridge and even some Shreddies at Serving Thyme we will make our escape and head back to Chi, through the city centre to Clay Lane and back to Havant where the ride terminates.

The distance is fifty miles or so with about eighteen hundred feet of ascent, some before and some after coffee.

Expect to be back before sixteen hundred hours as the pace will be very modest, downhill and flat after Whiteways.

The weather is picking up for Wednesday so looking promising but of course always changeable.

About Wednesday rides

Wednesday rides usually start from Havant with stops for elevenses, lunch and sometimes tea. If you're unable to keep up or have a mechanical problem, someone will be available to help you - although we obviously cannot guarantee to solve all problems.

Wednesday rides usually provide a range of options to riders as we'll try to arrange multiple rides with different paces, distance and degree of hilliness.

On Wednesdays it is likely that there will be several riders coming back to the Havant area after an elevenses stop - although they might not include a PCTC ride leader. If that is what you'd like to do, please consult the ride organiser before the day of the ride to ensure someone knows and is able to bring you back.
