We'll hear from Roger Carradus...

I cut my teeth mountain biking in the Peak District in the early 90's. A serious road accident in my late teens and subsequent dangerous close encounters with motor vehicles drove me off the road. So I wondered what this ‘big American joke’ called mountain biking was about.

Since those days I’ve mountain biked all over England, Wales and abroad. I’ve ridden all over the rocky Alps from Switzerland to Slovenia’s Julian Alps. Along the famous US trails in the Rockies, Porcupine Rim, Poison Spider, Fruita, Slickrock and Moab. Pyrenees, Picos, Croatia, Sardinia, Turkey (Cappadocia), Croatia, Anadalucia and the Algarve.

Finally many of you may know of my ride from Lake Titicaca near the Bolivian border up to Machu Picchu in Peru.

Around 2007/8 I discovered I could use a bullet video camera mounted on my head with the heavy batteries and recording units packed on my back to record my adventures. The video quality looks terrible now but the introduction of the GoPro around 2012 changed all that.

I will try to give you a flavour of the excitement that mountain biking instils in me to this day.
