Map

Start Point: Lovedean Tesco Express (Junction of Lovedean Lane and Milton Road)

A medium paced flat-ish route to New Alresford starting from Lovedean. I've tried to minimise the hills, but please bear in mind there are still a few.

Out via Chidden to Old Winchester Hill, down through Combe to West Meon. Then via Brockwood Bottom, crossing the A272 towards Bishops Sutton and New Alresford for coffee at the Railway station.

Return via Tichborne, Cheriton and Hinton Ampner, West Meon and East Meon.

The route is either 62km (38m) or 70km (44m) - depending if we wish to take the climb up Clanfield Road from East Meon, or the flatter route via the Buster cutting (Map shows this route).

Please bear in mind this is the day of the Kings coronation.

Update:

The weather forecast for Saturday has slowly deteriorated during the week, with the prospect of a wet ride on Saturday morning.

However, the weather although wet “may” only be intermittent or light rain so I’m going anyway, even if the ride only gets as far as West Meon (Cuppachino’s cafe).

If this is not for you I fully understand. I’ll be at the start point at 9.00am but won’t be hanging about - so if you are still coming along be prompt!

About Saturday rides

Rides usually from Havant with stops for elevenses, lunch and sometimes tea. If you're unable to keep up or have a mechanical problem, someone will be available to help you - although we obviously cannot guarantee to solve all problems.

Riders are free to join and leave the ride at various points. Some ride directly to the elevenses stop.

Saturday rides are (usually) much smaller than Wednesday rides. As a result they offer fewer options for rides but more flexibility for routes and destinations.

If you want to ride with us but only to elevenses and need someone to help you with the route back, please let us know in advance of the ride so we can try to arrange something for you.
