A partial route check at 11 am today (Thursday) manifested extensive surface water flooding on roads, a mudfest off-road, icy patches in shaded areas and some residual snow turning to slush. If not downright dangerous, the ride would be at least unpleasant with cold, wet feet guaranteed. Accordingly I'm cancelling the ride, and will reschedule when conditions are more clement. One flooded section included a Sainsburys delivery van in the ditch, probably due to aquaplaning rather than ice.

Summary: it's dead dodgy out there.

A flat ride around the coast from Havant to Bracklesham Bay, about 77 km for the return trip. Suitable for single speed or fixed wheel or hill-allergic riders. Some unsurfaced sections, gravelly rather than mountain bike territory. We should be home before dusk, but bring lights just in case.

About Pop-up rides

We have certain days when we try to organise regular rides. However, individual ride leaders can create pop-up rides for any day and time.

The small size of some pop-up rides means we might be unable to split a ride if you get into difficulties. We will do all we can to escort you back to the start point, but please be prepared to navigate yourself home or to call for support from a partner, relative or friend.
