It's time to restart some longer rides. Today is a repeat of the ride out to the Devil's Dyke. More details at last time

This ride is classified as B because it is between A and C; however it isn't really a hilly route because the only hills are where we cross the Downs at Devil's Dyke and Amberley.

The distance Chichester to Chichester is ~130 km. Average riding speed will be ~19 km/hr (12 mph).

We *may* be able to get a pub meal outside, but it may be very crowded, so BYO is still a very sensible option.

We start at Chichester railway station at 09h30. Westerly based riders may prefer the 08h55 Southern train from Fareham, arrives Chichester at 09h22. John will lead an informal ride from the bus stop by the roundabout in central Emsworth, leaving at 08h55.

Max of 6 riders with preference to PCTC members.

Bookings for this ride

Pop-up rides are invitation-only. We are operating under Government guidelines which dictate we must control the size of our rides. Do not attend a ride unless your name appears below or you have received an invite from the ride leader. You cannot assume that you are eligible to join a ride just because you asked to be added.

This ride cannot exceed 6 riders (including the ride leader).

This ride is currently full but we encourage you to ask to join, even so. That will let the ride leader:

  • Find out the demand for that type of ride
  • Nominate you as a replacement if someone drops out
  • Arrange to split the ride if there is sufficient demand

Bookings (Log in to see rider names):

About Pop-up rides

Find out about riding under COVID restrictions here.

Individual ride leaders can create pop-up rides for any day and time. People can then ask the ride leader for permission to join their ride. Leaders have complete discretion who they invite to join. It is vital that you do not join a pop-up ride unless you are invited by the ride leader, or your name appears in the booking list shown for each ride.

If you receive an invitation, please do your best to join the ride because you might be taking a place that could have been used by someone else. Unless you have a good reason for not turning up, you might find it difficult to join future rides.

The small size of some pop-up rides means we might be unable to split a ride if you get into difficulties. We will do all we can to escort you back to the start point, but please be prepared to navigate yourself home or to call for support from a partner, relative or friend.

If you are out on your bike and you see one of our pop-up rides, you can ask the ride leader if you can join provided it doesn't exceed the limit set by Government. Please respect the leader's decision if you are not allowed to join.
