Note this ride starts in Petersfield Market Place outside the library at 9.30am.

For those who are bringing their bikes by car to Petersfield there is a free car park at Petersfield Heath, take B2146 Sussex Road towards Chichester, car park is just past the heath pond on the left. It’s about 1 mile from the car park to the meeting point in the market square:

Turn right immediately after 1st pedestrian crossing as you approach the town centre from the south, car park is about ¼ mile to meeting point.

The ride will follow country roads through the Hampshire Hangers and the Surrey Hills and pass through three counties. Starting in Petersfield the route will be Hawkley, Oakhanger, Binsted and Dockenfield to Tilford for elevenses at the garden centre, then Churt, Thursley, Bowlhead Green, Whitley to Chiddingfold for lunch, then back to Petersfield via Gospel Green, Lickfold, Fernhurst, Milland, Chithurst and Nyewood. There are possibilities for optional refreshment stops at Milland or Trotton on the way back from Chiddingfold.

For lunch in Chiddingfold there is a pub, a small cafe and a shop, which has a limited selection of rolls and sandwiches. Approximate distance Petersfield to Petersfield is 63 miles.

About Tuesday rides

The Tuesday rides are typically 60-80 miles at a moderately fast pace while maintaining the social nature of the Saturday and Wednesday rides. The rides will start at various locations to be determined by the individual ride leader.
