Map

35 miles

Ride cancelled. Snow is laying in the West Meon/Clanfield area. Safety comes first.

Chris

Starting from the green at Rowlands, heading out via Finchdean, Charlton and Buriton. Then taking Ramsdean Lane to East Meon and onto West Meon Cuppacheeno's for coffee (15 miles).

Then head to Droxford via Brockwood, Preshaw, Corhampton Down and have lunch at the Sustainability Centre (32 miles). Unfortunately, the original plan to stop at Wilfrid's Cafe is not viable as they stop serving at 12.30.

Total distance 35 miles
Should be back to Clanfield by 1330 where ride will terminate.

Average pace 12 mph - not too fast.
Total ascent 755 metres - there are a few hills hence why distance is shorter.

See attached hill profile and GPX file.

Ride leader notes

I have 2 bikes: an Orbea e-bike and a Specialised Ruby bike that has had Cytronex fitted to provide electric assist. I like to have a pace of around 10-12 mph, preferring slower than fast. I don't mind hills, but try to keep the ascent to a sensible level.

My preferred distance is 40-50 miles, but I'm equally happy to do shorter rides.

About Pop-up rides

We have certain days when we try to organise regular rides. However, individual ride leaders can create pop-up rides for any day and time.

The small size of some pop-up rides means we might be unable to split a ride if you get into difficulties. We will do all we can to escort you back to the start point, but please be prepared to navigate yourself home or to call for support from a partner, relative or friend.
