Map

Portsmouth Climate Action is organising a family and kid friendly group cycle ride of 3km through Southsea to end with a picnic on Southsea Common. The ride will have experienced Leaders, Marshalls and Back Markers and follow a previous Kidical Mass route that has been risk assessed.
This event takes place on the 100th anniversary of Portsmouth becoming a city, and celebrates the fact that cycling was the main form of commuting about half of that century, especially for dockyard workers. By providing an opportunity to enjoy a fun filled cycle ride, the event will draw attention to the joys and benefits of cycling, and the potential for Portsmouth to become a city that cycles again.

More details of the ride can be seen here.
To register for the ride and to volunteer to help out as a Leader, Marshall or Back Marker go to Eventbrite here.
To fund insurance and promotion, a Crowdfunding appeal has been set up. Please contribute whatever you can.
Also linked to this is a survey to gather views on what it is like to cycle in Portsmouth in the present day and what should be done to improve the cycling experience, as here.
