Map

Tea/Coffee ride only to the Old Dairy Tea Rooms just NW of privett (15 miles) . Meet outside Bumble Bees cafe ready for an 0930 departure and returning around 1400. It's a hilly route (37 miles in total) as is anywhere northwards. The pace: always a subjective measure but if you've ridden with Martyn Roberts before, then take that as a guide. If you'd like to join the ride at Horndean or Clanfield, that's no problem but please let me know.

Ride leader notes

Back in the day, as the term goes, cycle touring was my favourite mode of cycling. Now it's a more leisurely approach to riding with assistance from one of my bike conversions to 'E'. I'm as happy on hills as the flat and enjoy slow cycling as much as more demanding rides.

About Wednesday rides

Wednesday rides usually start from Havant with stops for elevenses, lunch and sometimes tea. If you're unable to keep up or have a mechanical problem, someone will be available to help you - although we obviously cannot guarantee to solve all problems.

Wednesday rides usually provide a range of options to riders as we'll try to arrange multiple rides with different paces, distance and degree of hilliness.

On Wednesdays it is likely that there will be several riders coming back to the Havant area after an elevenses stop - although they might not include a PCTC ride leader. If that is what you'd like to do, please consult the ride organiser before the day of the ride to ensure someone knows and is able to bring you back.
