Once again we're organising a bunch of vandals volunteers to wreak havoc to support the work of the National Trust on the Slindon estate. It's too early to be certain but it's likely we'll be coppicing - a technical term for chopping down a load of trees so that shoots will grow from the stumps. Last year we chopped down over 100 trees!
Equipment, heavy gloves, training and supervision is provided by the National Trust.
Everyone welcome including non-cycling partners. I can arrange car shares, and transport of luggage for those cycling.
Accommodation is free and the cost of the food will be divvied up at the end. The cost was significantly less than £20 per person last year. Bring your own tipples. This year we’re planning for the catering to be more collaborative than past years. Instead of relying on one or two people to do all the cooking, we’ll be sharing the work – what could possibly go wrong? Please let me know if you’re willing to help by:
- Preparing meals to bring to Slindon
- Being part of the breakfast-cooking team
- Buying supplies
- Transporting stuff to Slindon
Booking is first come first served. Please let me know if you’d like to come.
