Map

Meet either at the Spring centre at 7pm or in Mill Lane (see map above) at 7.40pm.

This is the annual competition for which two trophies are awarded. Entry is 50p per event and you can enter multiple times (50p each time).

There's no fee for spectators.

Freewheel competition

Your bicycle cranks will be secured to prevent pedalling and the competition starts from a set point. The place where you put a foot down is marked. The winner is the competitor who has travelled the furthest distance before they put a foot down. If your pedal securing is broken at the finish, you will be disqualified.

Hill climb

You state your anticipated time to complete the course - 0.8 miles climbing 216 feet. You then ride the course without watches in a visible or easily accessible position and with cycle computers removed. The winner is the competitor with an actual time closest to their estimate.

And afterwards

We'll go to the Churchillian on Portsdown Hill or to the First Post in Cosham for refreshments.

About evening pub rides

Thursday evening rides in the summer from Havant or Farlington Marshes depending on direction. Destination is a pub for a drink or a meal.

There's a good chance you will arrive home after dark so you should bring some lights with you.

This article describes what you should consider bringing with you.

There is no delay, however, if you use the 'Contact us about this event' link.
