My apologies to Peter. He sent me these details earlier, but they got buried in my inbox.
This will be a fun day rather than a hard cycle although between ferries we will try and maintain the 'fast group' speed. Start point is the car ferry at Portsmouth going to Fishbourne. We need catch the 09.00 hours ferry so we will meet at 08.45 hours and the cost will be around £15 including the ferry from Yarmouth and somewhat less for the oldies. Allowing for unloading etc we should be on our bikes on the IOW at around 10.00 hours and arriving at Yarmouth say around 12.00 hours, coffee will be on the Portsmouth ferry. The ferry to Lymington leaves Yarmouth at 13.05 and we want to catch that as the next one is not until 15.05. Lunch will either be at Yarmouth or snack on the ferry to Lymington depending on preference. We should be on our way on the other side by 14.00 hours and its about 1.5 hours to Hythe. Hythe ferry costs £7 with bike but the bike part is a return trip valid I think 30 days. At Southampton we take the back way to Hamble and catch the Pink ferry, cost £1.75, to Warsash. We may need two ferries depending on numbers. From Warsash we will go via Hook, Titchfield Haven and Gosport ferry but some may want to branch off to go home via Fareham. Trains can be caught either at Fareham or Portsmouth if people want.
About Tuesday rides
The Tuesday rides are typically 60-80 miles at a moderately fast pace while maintaining the social nature of the Saturday and Wednesday rides. The rides will start at various locations to be determined by the individual ride leader.
