A shortish day ride by the coast. We'll start in Havant and ride on the back roads to Chichester for early elevenses at the cafe by the ship canal (12 miles). We'll continue along the tow path (rough surface) and along tracks to Sidlesham Quay, then road to Earnley and the Witterings (further15 miles). Lunch in West Wittering village where there is a cafe to get drinks. Optional detour to the beach. Return through Itchenor and ferry to Bosham then back to Havant. Total distance 37 miles.

Please bring picnic lunch, £3 change for ferry, mask. Route is rough in places so not suitable for delicate road bikes (I'll be using my tourer.)

Bookings for this ride/event

Pop-up rides are invitation-only. We are operating under Government guidelines which dictate we must control the size of our rides. Do not attend a ride unless your name appears below or you have received an invite from the ride leader. You cannot assume that you are eligible to join a ride just because you asked to be added.

This ride cannot exceed 6 riders (including the ride leader).

This ride is currently full but we encourage you to ask to join the wait list. That will let the ride leader:

  • Find out the demand for that type of ride
  • Nominate you as a replacement if someone drops out
  • Arrange to split the ride if there is sufficient demand

Bookings recorded for this ride (Log in to see rider names):

To ask to join this ride, please use the 'Contact us about this ride' link above to send an email to the ride leader.

About Pop-up rides

We have certain days when we try to organise regular rides. However, individual ride leaders can create pop-up rides for any day and time.

The small size of some pop-up rides means we might be unable to split a ride if you get into difficulties. We will do all we can to escort you back to the start point, but please be prepared to navigate yourself home or to call for support from a partner, relative or friend.
