The forecast for tomorrow morning is dire. I plan to wait until the rain clears and, if there's time, go direct to the Pook Lane / Kennel Hill junction.
Hopefully, there'll be time to see some of the race and meet up with people.
Katie-Anne Calton - who started her group riding with Portsmouth CTC - is competing in the RCR Fatcreations women's road race on Saturday.
We'll have a leisurely ride out from Havant to Design Vintage in West Stoke for elevenses. From there we'll ride to Lavant and up Pook Lane to get to Kennel Hill. The race is five laps of this course that starts at 1.30 so we'll have plenty of time to catch all five passes and cheer Katie-Anne up the hill.
There's grass verge at the junction of Pook Lane and Kennel Hill, or there's grassy banks a bit further up the hill which would be more comfortable for sitting. I suggest bringing something to sit on and a packed lunch.
After the final lap has passed us we could cycle to the finish at Boxgrove - but it might be busy.
I've restricted numbers to 8 to avoid overloading the café. There's scope for splitting the ride and using Goodwood Aerodrome as an alternate.

Ride leader notes
I ride an assistance e-bike which allows me to do most hills. I have a range extender that allows me to do 80-90 hilly miles or further for flatter rides.
My maximum comfortable speed on the flat without wind is 13mph at the start of a ride. I find, however, I can manage faster speeds after a few hours of riding. I struggle with balance when riding speeds lower than around 7mph.
Otherwise, I don't mind about pace when leading or joining rides. I'm out to enjoy the ride and speed is not part of that for me.
I get the biggest kick out of supporting new riders when they find out they can achieve much more than they thought.
About Saturday rides
Saturday rides tend to be small ones. Typically we offer fewer options for rides than Wednesdays, but more flexibility for routes and destinations.
Most rides are morning only, riding out to a stop for elevenses and back again.
Some will be full day with stops for elevenses, lunch and, possibly, tea. If you want to join a full day ride but only to elevenses and need someone to help you with the route back, please let us know in advance of the ride in case someone else that knows the route wants to do the same.
This article describes what you should consider bringing with you on one of these rides.
