Map
Estimated distance: 109 miles / 175 Kilometres. Something for riders who enjoy longer distances.
The ride to elevenses is about 70km. Following fortifications in Hurstbourne Tarrant we ride up Walbury Hill with its stunning views over North West Hampshire and Wiltshire, dropping down to Kintbury where we turn South again, heading for lunch at around 97km completed in Burghclere. We continue South over Watership Down and through Kingsworthy to tea at about 142 km in Alresford. From there it is a familiar route back to The Churchillian, taking in the climb of Beacon Hill, and lanes through Soberton, Newtown and Denmead, before the final ascent of Portsdown Hill.
Please note the early start at 8am!
