Map

We'll ride from the coffee meet at the Sustainability centre to the coast stopping for lunch at Lee on Solent. From there we'll follow the coast to Gosport, then over on the ferry and back through Portsmouth, down the Eastern road and Farlington Marshes back to Havant. Distance from coffee meet 38 miles (note its 12 miles from Havant to Sustainability centre. Most of the climbing given is to the start hence I have graded as "gentle".

I will be riding from Hayling Island to the coffee meet so if you want to join me on that just ask.

Ride leader notes

I am about recovered from my accident in early September 2025, but am riding a recumbent trike to reduce the risk of falling. i am now slower, but trying to get back to longer rides. I have a new e-trike which is somewhat faster than the other one - around 11 mph

I record my speed on a Hammerhead Karoo bike computer and the speeds I give reflect what i have recorded over the past few months.

I 'm not keen on urban riding and prefer the countryside of the Downs to the north, west and east of us. Although I'm not a particularly good climber I don't shy away from hills as i think flat rides can be less interesting.

I sometimes lead morning only rides on a Friday for all-comers. On these rides I arrange groups to suit the pace of all riders.

I generally start my rides at the Spring Centre in Havant but will pick up on the route on request. I finish my rides here too although you are welcome to leave the ride elsewhere e.g.nearer to your home.

About Pop-up rides

We have certain days when we try to organise regular rides. However, individual ride leaders can create pop-up rides for any day and time.

The small size of some pop-up rides means we might be unable to split a ride if you get into difficulties. We will do all we can to escort you back to the start point, but please be prepared to navigate yourself home or to call for support from a partner, relative or friend.
