We meet at 6-45pm for a 7pm start. The ride has approx 23km & 300m of ascent & avoids busy roads. The steepest section is just past the Green Lane Shops in Clanfield. The slope up to Butser Summit has a good surface, usually little traffic in an evening and an easy incline. The return is via South Downs Way to Hyden Cross. Most of this section is on unsealed surfaces but other than a short decent is easy to cycle. It has good views over East Meon. We return Via the Bat & Ball to Lovedean where the ride ends. The forecast is good, providing it holds views should be amongst the best seen in South Hampshire.

About Waterlooville CCC rides
We have established a Community Cycling club for Waterlooville - a series of cycle rides in the Waterlooville area for people who are new to group riding or who haven't cycled for a while. All are circular routes in moderate terrain that avoid steep inclines but may include a steeper descent. As far as possible we will avoid busy roads. Routes are all less than 30km long (most substantially less). Our aim is to make cycling enjoyable, safe and welcoming for all.
