Trip to Amesbury
Several of you have asked me if I'm planning another trip similar to this year's one to Lymington for 2025. Trips like this give us an opportunity to ride in less familiar and beautiful places. For 2025 Dee Warner and I are working on it together and now is your opportunity to express an interest and book a place.

Accommodation Our suggestion is the George hotel https://george-amesbury.co.uk/ which works out from £100 per room per night i.e £100 per person for 2 nights if sharing. (£228 for room for 2 fo 2 nights, including breakfast.) Prices are subject to change and may be cheaper if you book through Booking.com or Expedia - worth shopping around. There is also a Travelodge less than a mile away at a service area on A303. This may be marginally cheaper but is out of the town. However each participant will decide and book their own accommodation .
-
Evening meals - I hope to have at least one group meal either in the hotel or nearby restaurant. To be decided later in the planning and will be optional. This was a highlight for me last year!
-
Numbers – In order to keep the event manageable numbers will be limited to a maximum 16 – 2 groups of 8 riders led by Dee and myself.
What next? If you're interested please email me and I will and will add names in the usual way. Please say which group you wish to ride with. Once your name is on the list you can book your hotel and you'll have 2 weeks to do so but the ride will be capped at 16 (8 in each group). The George has a number of options including cancellable ones - you choose. Once you've told me you've booked your accommodation your place will be confirmed.
Note on Booking - Both the hotel website and booking.com have no twin rooms shown as available. I phoned the hotel and was told to add that I wanted a twin to my booking. You may also wish to call to confirm.
The hotel has a room for bikes and somewhere to charge them if required.
Further details on routes etc nearer the time.
