Map

Alphabet rides are up to M. On this ride the challenge is to visit all FOUR Mardens the same day: West, North, Up and East.
We'll leave The Spring at 9.30am and ride north, turning right just after Idsworth church. Morning coffee will be at Darcy's tea room, Compton village stores.
Next we go south to WEST Marden, pausing for a photo at the village sign. After Walderton we take a sharp left , signpost Up Marden. This is a tiring road, with two and a half miles of unrelenting climb. I may have to walk a bit. Eventually (!) group photo beside blue sign saying St. Michael (church), UP Marden.
We'll continue north to the NORTH Marden sign for our penultimate photo. Then we can head south, downhill with care, as road is rough here, to EAST Marden, our final Marden village.
Phew!
Next we ride past Wildhams Wood to Stoughton, stopping at the Hare and Hounds for lunch. Then back to Havant via Walderton and Westbourne.

About Wednesday rides

Wednesday rides usually start from Havant with stops for elevenses, lunch and sometimes tea. If you're unable to keep up or have a mechanical problem, someone will be available to help you - although we obviously cannot guarantee to solve all problems.

Wednesday rides usually provide a range of options to riders as we'll try to arrange multiple rides with different paces, distance and degree of hilliness.

On Wednesdays it is likely that there will be several riders coming back to the Havant area after an elevenses stop - although they might not include a PCTC ride leader. If that is what you'd like to do, please consult the ride organiser before the day of the ride to ensure someone knows and is able to bring you back.
