Route goes:
- Fishbourne
- Newport
- Cowes
- Back to Fishbourne
The start/end can go via Ashlake Copse Lane. This avoids a hill and (at the start) the congestion that inevitably happens when the traffic piles off the ferry. It is, however, a bit rough and some of it is best pushed.
The route involves some hills, but none of them are major ones. Some of the tracks before Newport are a little rough but, again, nothing particularly bad.
When rejoining the A3054 at Lushington Hill, the pavement on the left is shared although that's not obvious at the start.
Having got the 10am ferry, we were easily able to get to Cowes for lunch.
It's best to stop in West Cowes for lunch before using the chain ferry. There are places to eat in East Cowes, but not a great selection.
