Distance appro x. 120Km\n\nDay 2 - ? onwards to Ramsgate (or maybe Dover)\, 120Km\n\nDay 3 – OUR BIG DAY CHASING THE SUN - Starting at sunrise(ish) 04:51hrs\, well t ake a coastal route back to Portsmouth\, aiming to arrive back at 21:22hrs. We then cycle to Tunbridge Wells via Midhurst\, 70 m iles\, and stay at a Travel lodge. If people are happy to share\, this will reduce the cost of a single room (81+). Stopping along the way for coffee/ lunch stops. The speed will be approx 10-11 mph throughout the 3 days and w ill be a relaxing tour.\n\nSaturday\, 20th June: We then set off from Tunbr idge Wells and cycle to Rye which is a very pretty historic village where w e can grab lunch then cycle down to Eastbourne (60 miles). There is a lot o f choice of hotels at Eastbourne at roughly 65/night. Option for swim after the cycle ride. Evening meal in the town - there are lots of restaurants/c afes etc. As this is crossing the High Weald\, there will be some hills\, b ut I will avoid where possible any steep hills.\n\nSunday\, 21st June: From Eastbourne we cycle back home to Havant (68 miles) - obviously this is a f lat route as it is along the coast. However\, if anyone is tired\, then the re is the option to catch a train at the many railway stations on the way b ack. It is possible that Phil’s Ramsgate/Dover group will catch us up somew here along the way.\n\nI will conduct further research and let you know whi ch hotel to book in Tunbridge and Eastbourne (it needs to be a hotel that c an accommodate bikes).
