We then cycle to Tunbridge Wells via Midhurst\, 70 m iles\, and stay at The Mercure Hotel.? ? Stopping along the way for coffee /lunch stops. The speed will be approx 10-11 mph throughout the 3 days and will be a relaxing tour.\n\nSaturday\, 20th June: We then set off from Tunb ridge Wells and cycle to Rye which is a very pretty historic village where we can grab lunch then cycle down to Eastbourne (60 miles). There is a lot of choice of hotels at Eastbourne at roughly 65/night. Option for swim afte r the cycle ride. Evening meal in the town - there are lots of restaurants/ cafes etc. As this is crossing the High Weald\, there will be some hills\, but I will avoid where possible any steep hills.? Hotel for Eastbourne is: ? Afton Hotel.\n\nSunday\, 21st June: From Eastbourne we cycle back home t o Havant (68 miles) - obviously this is a flat route as it is along the coa st. The original ‘Classic 100k’\, designed to appeal to cyclists of a wide range of abilities and the inaugural ‘Challenge 100 mile’ - a much mo re demanding ride for the experienced cyclist.\nBoth routes use the same st art/finish and the same two controls/halls along the route. This means that you can ‘mix and match’ the two routes. If you have started on the ‘Challe nge 100 mile’ route and feel knackered by the time you reach the 2nd contro l\, continue on the shorter ‘Classic 100k’. Conversely\, if you have starte d on the ‘Classic 100k’ and feel mighty strong at the 2nd control\, you can continue on the longer and more challenging ‘Challenge 100 mile’.
