It is a follow-up ride to our RETURN TO CYCLING (RTC) series and is an ideal introduction to riding in a group to gain confidence on the ro ad.\n\nIt is an easy paced sixteen mile ride to Emsworth Quay\, starting at Morrisons\, Anchorage Park\, on both off road cycle track and minor/back r oads\, avoiding traffic wherever possible. There are inevitably a few secti ons of busier road\, but these are wide\, easy to use sections.\n\nWe first cross the Eastern Road on cycle paths and continue north to Farlington Mar shes\, where we take the (now open) off road route along the top of the mar shes. The original ‘Classic 100k’\, designed to appeal to cyclists of a wide range of abilities and the inaugural ‘Challenge 100 mile’ - a much mo re demanding ride for the experienced cyclist.\nBoth routes use the same st art/finish and the same two controls/halls along the route. This means that you can ‘mix and match’ the two routes. If you have started on the ‘Challe nge 100 mile’ route and feel knackered by the time you reach the 2nd contro l\, continue on the shorter ‘Classic 100k’. Conversely\, if you have starte d on the ‘Classic 100k’ and feel mighty strong at the 2nd control\, you can continue on the longer and more challenging ‘Challenge 100 mile’. Distance appro x. 120Km\n\nDay 2 - ? onwards to Ramsgate (or maybe Dover)\, 120Km\n\nDay 3 – OUR BIG DAY CHASING THE SUN - Starting at sunrise(ish) 04:51hrs\, well t ake a coastal route back to Portsmouth\, aiming to arrive back at 21:22hrs.
