Map
Spring has sprung at Meon Springs!
Keep it quiet, but there's rumours Spring has arrived. So it might be appropriate to celebrate the Vernal Equinox at where else but Meon Springs.
This will be an asymmetrical ride, so we'll take a slightly longer route there and a shorter route back.
From Rowlands we'll head towards Horndean, and then across to Denmead, followed by Hambleden.
We may pick up the old railway track (so decent quality tyres) towards West Meon and then up to Meon Springs. Return direct via Clanfield.
Approximate timings...
Meet - Bumblebee Cafe, RC: 09.15
Depart - Rowlands Castle: 09.30
Coffee - Meon Springs: 11.00-11.40
Return - Rowlands: 13.00
The pace will be medium-fast (10-12mph).
Enjoy the early Spring sunshine whilst it lasts.

About Saturday rides
Rides usually from Havant with stops for elevenses, lunch and sometimes tea. If you're unable to keep up or have a mechanical problem, someone will be available to help you - although we obviously cannot guarantee to solve all problems.
Riders are free to join and leave the ride at various points. Some ride directly to the elevenses stop.
Saturday rides are (usually) much smaller than Wednesday rides. As a result they offer fewer options for rides but more flexibility for routes and destinations.
If you want to ride with us but only to elevenses and need someone to help you with the route back, please let us know in advance of the ride so we can try to arrange something for you.
This article describes what you should consider bringing with you on one of these rides.
